Royal Outlook went to the front and didn’t look back en route to posting a 1:56.3 score in Monday’s main event at The Raceway at the Western Fair District, and Trevor Henry had another banner day at the office thanks to a five-win performance than helped extend his lead in his quest for the nation’s dash title.

Royal Outlook rocketed to the top from Post 3 in the $15,000 Preferred Pace for driver Robert Shepherd, who made four left turns with the four-year-old son of Royal Mattjesty-Fresh Outlook before crossing the line with a half-length margin to spare. He threw down fractions of :28, :58.3 and 1:27 before kicking home in :29.3 to stave off a late challenge from the 3-2 favourite, Lyons Josephjnr. Quinnman rallied late and grabbed the show dough.

Sent off as the third choice in the eight-horse affair, the Dan Creighton-trained gelding improved his 2012 record to 15-5-3 from 27 starts while pushing this year’s bankroll over $152,000. Danterrra Racing Stable of Strathroy, ON owns the 19-time winner who has stashed away earnings of $193,765.

Trevor Henry pushed his national win total to 493 thanks to his five trips to victory lane at the London oval on Monday’s 12-race card.

The Arthur, ON horseman clicked with Smokin Bear (1:57), Miss Bexley (1:59.2), Tips Girl (1:58), Rays San (1:56.4) and Pacific Oak (1:58.1. The productive performance by the sulky sitter helping him inch closer to $30 million in lifetime earnings while pushing his career win total to 4,558.
