Through the snow trotted Cash Me Out at Saratoga Casino Hotel to take the $18,000 Open Trot on Sunday, Dec. 1.
Driver Brett Crawford cleared command with the eight-year-old son of Cash Hall and faced little challenge through the mile. Trotting a half in :58 and three-quarters in 1:26.4, Cash Me Out expanded his lead around the final turn. Cartier Volo gave pursuit from the pocket to finish second with Trixie Dust taking third as Cash Me Out trotted the mile in 1:55.4.
Trained by Kyle Spagnola for owner Traylor Racing Stable, Cash Me Out paid $7.90 to win, leading an exacta that returned $28.80 and a trifecta that paid $116.50. Cash Me Out also collected his 12th victory this season as well his his 49th from 198 overall, good for $1.1 million in earnings.
Live racing resumes on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 4) with first-race post time set for 12 p.m. There will a $1,396 carryover in the Pick-5 pool. The Pick 5 is a 50-cent minimum wager and starts in the matinee’s first race.
