Passed Dat Point showed no mercy to his eighth race foes Tuesday at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and that was music to the ears of driver Billy Davis, Jr.

Davis went into Tuesday’s card just a single win away from 2,000 lifetime victories, and Passed Dat Point had no problem helping Davis earn the milestone score.

The gelding got away seventh for Davis, who grabbed the trotter cover on the way to the mid-way point of the contest. They continued to track cover until the late stages of the mile, and a :30.1 closing quarter propelled Passed Dat Point to the 2:01.4 triumph and it earned Davis a trip to the 2,000-win club.

The Guelph, ON-based horseman has banked more than $1.5 million in earnings in each of the last five seasons, and he’s on the verge of surpassing $17 million in lifetime earnings. Davis has already racked up 251 wins this year.
