A former chief executive officer of a major North American Standardbred racino has been fined $60,000 by a presiding gaming commission.

An article by The Citizens’ Voice explains that the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has approved the fine against Bobby Soper, the former CEO of Downs Racing LP, which operates Mohegan Sun Pocono.

The article states that the fine came after the board learned that Soper, who was CEO for seven years, failed to disclose particular business interests at the time. Two of those business interests conducted direct business with Mohegan Sun Pocono.

Soper has been quoted as saying that the failure to disclose was an “unintentional, administrative, clerical mistake” and that he has voluntarily agreed to pay the $60,000 fine for his failure in properly disclosing the business interests in question.

Soper currently operates a hospitality and gaming company in Florida.
