Post positions for the 2010 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals were drawn on Tuesday, November 9. The province's top two and three-year-old trotting and pacing stars are now set to compete for a combined $2.4 million in purses Saturday, November 13 at Woodbine Racetrack
.
A total of eight $300,000 OSS Super Finals will help make up Woodbine's 12-race program, which will get underway with a 7:30 p.m. first-race post time. The Super Final action will kick off in Race 3 (8:12 p.m.) and will run straight through to Race 10 (10:39 p.m.).
The two-year-old trotting fillies will do battle in Race 3. Striking Sahbra bay Peach Martini (PP5, R. Zeron) has drawn mid-gate in the 10-horse tilt, which will also include Beach Party AS (PP2, J. Jamieson), Extraordinaire (PP3, W. Henry), My Whispering Eye (PP6, A. MacDonald) and L A Freeway (PP9, P. MacDonell).
Two-year-old pacing fillies will follow in Race 4, and the Bob McIntosh-trained Modern Art lass Lauren (PP6, S. Condren) has drawn mid-gate. Modern Connection (PP3, M. MacDonald), Village Janus (PP4, Ph. Hudon), Monkey On My Wheel (PP5, R. Zeron) and Bunkhouse Babe (PP7, M. Saftic) will help fill out the field.
Freshman trotting colts and geldings will step out for Race 5. Divisional earnings leader Buckhams Bay (PP4, J. Hebert) has drawn advantageously for trainer John Smith. Other notables in the field will include Air Stewart (PP3, M. Baillargeon) and Imperial Count (PP6, S. Condren).
The two-year-old pacing colts and geldings will duke it out during Race 6. Mystician (PP1, J. Jamieson) has drawn the rail in the 10-horse contest, which will also feature Some Mach Some Win (PP5, C. Christoforou), Watermelonwine (PP6, R. Zeron), Mach Of Ballykeel, Prodigal Seelster (PP8, Ra. Waples) and Twin B Legend (PP9, M. Saftic).
The three-year-old pacing colts and geldings will head to post for Race 7, and each end of the starting gate will house some impressive talent. Mach Dreamer (PP1, R. Zeron), Big Bay Point (PP2, M. Baillargeon) and Dalhousie Dave (PP3, J. Jamieson) have all drawn inside, while Code Word (PP7, C. Christoforou), Twin B Warrior (PP8, Ra. Waples), Stonebridge Tonic (PP9, D. McNair) and Keystone Raptor (PP10, J. Moiseyev) will begin from the outside slots.
The three-year-old trotting fillies will line up for Race 8, and O'Brien Award winner Poof Shes Gone (PP1, J. Jamieson) has drawn inside. The red-hot Random Destiny (PP3, R. Rekila) has also drawn an inner starting spot. Wilsonator (PP4, S. Zeron) and Emmylou Who (PP5, L. MacArthur) have drawn mid-gate spots.
The three-year-old trotting colts and geldings will go toe to toe in Race 9. Divisional leader Text Me (PP8, Ra. Waples) will have to overcome a disadvantaged outside post, as will Hidden Message (PP10, Ph. Hudon). Lexis Noah (PP5, J. Moiseyev) and Windsun Galaxie (PP6, P. MacDonell) have drawn mid-gate.
The three-year-old pacing filly showdown has been carded as the last of the Super Final dashes (Race 10). Western Silk (PP4, M. MacDonald), Bay Girl (PP7, Ph. Hudon) and Tiz To Dream (PP5, D. McNair) will all be taking part in the seven-race contest.
All eight of Saturday evening’s $300,000 finals will be aired during a special three-hour special on The Score. The show kicks off at 8:00 p.m and airs until 11 p.m. WEG will also be offering a $50,000 guaranteed pool for Saturday's early Pick-4 wager in addition to offering Superfecta wagering on all of Saturday's races.
