No Contest At Flamboro

An incident into the first turn of the 10th race at Flamboro Downs on Sunday (Nov. 7) forced the AGCO judges to declare a “no contest”.

Malcom G, driven by Mark Goddard, broke stride into the first turn of the mile and hooked wheels with the horse to his outside Arch We Lucky, driven by Wayne Henry. Goddard was unseated from the sulky and appeared tangled in the race bike, prompting the siren to sound for horses to pull up. All horses pulled up safely and no horses ran loose on the track. The veterinarian at Flamboro Downs, per the AGCO report, examined both horses involved in the incident and reported they were OK. Goddard also reported no injuries.
