The Ron Gass stable was out in full force Saturday afternoon (Nov. 7) as the Cornwall-based operation tripled up at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Screen Test captured the featured event in a 1:55.1 front-end victory for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Gass. Kickin Horse Stable of York co-owns the son of Vertical Horizon with William Andrew of Calgary, Alta.

Pillage And Burn (Ken Murphy) sat second in the $2,750 featured event but Screen Test proved too much. Pillage And Burn finished four lengths in arrears in second with Burn Out Hanover (Gilles Barrieau) third.

Adam Merner was in the driver’s seat for the other two Gass winners with Revenant converting off a pocket ride to win in 1:56.2 and Hemingway rallying off the pace for a 1:57.1 score.

The Peter Lanigan stable was equally as sharp with two trainees sent postward and both returning to the historic Charlottetown winner’s circle with Jason Hughes at the controls.

Dam Lucky had a season’s best performance as he won Race 8 in 1:56.3 followed by his stablemate Smart Official wearing down his competition in 1:57.3 in Race 9.
