Jailhouse Hooch Doubles Up In Series

Despite an outside post position Jailhouse Hooch prevailed in the $8,000 Stars Of The Future Series for green trotters Thursday night at Hollywood Dayton Raceway.

Driver Dan Noble left strongly from the eight-hole and secured a two-hole trip through the first five-eighths of the mile. Approaching three-quarters he pulled the pocket to challenge pacesetter Autumn Estelle (Hugh Beatty), who ultimately faded to a fourth-place finish. Elimination heat winner Nanohio (Tom Moore, Jr.) was the first to come calling once Jailhouse Hooch had secured the lead, followed by betting favourite Hey Pancho (Chris Page).

The threesome duelled bravely through the stretch before Noble’s steed pulled away to a one-length margin in 1:59.3 at the wire. Nanohio held for second with Hey Pancho just another half-length back to garner the show dough.

The elimination and final victories were the first two of the five-year-old lightly raced son of Jailhouse Jesse’s career. He is owned by Cynthia and Nancy Zirkle and trained by David Myers.
