Early Move Brings Cammikey Victory

Cammikey quarter-poled to the lead and held off the late charge of Sam Hill to capture Friday’s $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Pace at The Meadows.

In last week’s feature, Cammikey stayed inside, never found racing room and had to swallow a sixth-place pill. Brian Zendt assured that wouldn’t happen Friday, moving early from third with the four-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Always Cam and relegating Sam Hill to the pocket. Cammikey downed Sam Hill by half a length in 1:51.3 over a “good” surface. Full Code earned show despite being parked the mile.

Bill Zendt trains Cammikey, who soared over $300,000 in career earnings, for owner/breeder Cam Land LLC.

Tony Hall and Aaron Merriman each piloted three winners on the 15-race card.
