Unefoisdansmavie Sets Meadows Mark

Returning home to The Meadows after a respectable showing in the Breeders Crown, Unefoisdansmavie made short work of an accomplished field, capturing Wednesday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot in a track record 1:53.

Unefoisdansmavie finished fourth to Maven in the final of the Breeders Crown Mare Trot, outperforming her 49-1 odds. Back at her stomping grounds, though, she was bet down to 6-5 and had to overcome a parked-out first quarter. She did just that, grabbing the lead at the three-eighths and prevailing for Dave Palone, three lengths better than the pocket-sitting Trotslikethewind, with Itsghostlyoutside third.

The time shaved a tick from the track record for older trotting mares that Unefoisdansmavie held jointly with Mystical Starlight and Perfect Chance.

Ron Burke trains the six-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World, who now boasts $352,059 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III.

Palone and Burke each fashioned a four-bagger on the 15-race card while Greg Grismore and Aaron Merriman drove three winners apiece.
