Bay Girl, driven by Rick Plano, just got up in the final strides to edge the favoured Bombilla Hanover (driven by Bruce Ranger) in the weekly $8,500 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Pompano Park on Monday, November 5.
Monday's test was the first-ever Florida outing for the five-year-old daughter of Royal Mattjesty.
The victory was Bay Girl's seventh of the year --- her other wins have come at Woodbine Racetrack, Mohawk Racetrack and Vernon Downs in New York.
