Driver John MacDonald reined in six winners at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday evening, and in doing so he created a bit of breathing room
atop that track’s leaderboard.
MacDonald took the opener with Shanghai Tiger in 1:56, and he was back for his second taste of victory lane in Race 3 with Wave Board who wired up his foes in 1:57.2. Typhoon Charlie’s 1:55.4 score in Race 5 gave him the hat trick, but he was only getting started.
He rallied Stella Hall to a 2:00.1 triumph in Race 7 and came right back to take Race 8 with Pacific Warrior in 1:55.2 before grabbing his sixth tally on the card with Greystone Matt, who eked out a nose decision in a time of 1:57.4 in Race 13.
That half dozen trips to the winner’s circle bumped MacDonald’s win total at Rideau Carleton Raceway to 270 for the season, with Guy Gagnon holding down the second spot with 259 wins.
