Despite making a break in the first turn, Fridayscomin was able to rebound and post a convincing win in Tuesday’s $15,000 Election Night Series final at Northfield Park.
Fridayscomin, a son of Full Count-My D Red, started from the rail and was leading in the first turn when he made a break for driver Robin Miller. He was fifth at the quarter, which was clocked in :28.3, before rallying again in the second quarter, taking the lead and never looking back. Fridayscomin went on to post fractions of :59.1 and 1:28 before halting the teletimer in 1:57.4. Special Purpose was more than five lengths in arrears, with Chad taking home third prize.
He is trained by Roeleta Stutzman for Millersburg, Ohio owner Kenneth Hostetler.
It was the fourth win of the season in 15 starts for Fridayscomin, and it bolstered his career win tally to seven. His lifetime earnings now stand at $36,781.
