Tara Hills Stud has announced the addition of millionaire trotter Pilgrims Taj to its stallion roster
beginning with the 2011 season.
The son of Broadway Hall was the runner-up for the 2009 Two-Year-Old Trotter of the Year in the United States.
Pilgrims Taj had 10 starts at two, and won seven times with three seconds, including his elimination for the Breeders Crown and the subsequent final, where he defeated Lucky Chucky. He also tied the Meadows track record and the Keystone Classic stakes record at two when he won in 1:55.2 over the five-eights of a mile oval. IN total, Pigrims Taj raced to $746,939 in earnings in his freshman campaign.
At three, Pilgrims Taj triumphed in an elimination for the Hambletonian in 1:53.3 and defeated Muscle Massive in the process. The colt also triumphed in PASS divisions at Chester Racetrack and the Meadows. Pilgrims Taj finished fourth in the Hambletonian after being locked in for most of the mile, and was individually timed in 1:52.1.
Pilgrims Taj will be an outstanding outcross sire for many of the mares being bred at this time in North America.
