With the winter stakes season fast approaching and the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals set for next weekend, Friday morning's session of qualifiers set for Mohawk Racetrack is loaded with some
names very familiar to the Canadian harness racing scene.
The first race of the morning, for aged trotters, contains the likes of Digital Image (making his first start for trainer Darren McCall), Windsun Lane (Rick Zeron), Photo Maxx (Jody Jamieson), speedy mare Saqqara Dream (Luc Ouellette) and Maple Leaf Trot elimination winner Sakic Seelster (Mario Baillargeon).
A pair of fleet-footed pacers prepping for the Super Finals will head to the gate in the second race including the world record holding millionaire Not Enough (Mark MacDonald), making her first on-track appearance since the Nadia Lobell Final on September 14. Also included in the field is Burlington division winner OK Boromir (Ouellette).
Rookie trotter Angostura (Trevor Ritchie) will look to rebound from some unfortunate miscues to head into her Super Final on the right foot in the fifth qualifier.
