The road trip to Canada’s fastest half-mile oval on Thursday afternoon proved to be a profitable one for trainer Joe Cirasuola, who sent out three winners
on the 11-race program.
Cirasuola teamed up with driver Jody Jamieson to take the opener with Stonebridge Leader in 1:58.2, and he joined forces with teamster J.R. Plante to take the ninth race with Scrappy Wallace in 2:03.2. Mike Langdon helped Cirasuola complete the hat trick thanks to an off-the-pace score in the finale with Thatll Be Hot in 2:00.4.
The Durand, Michigan horseman has already racked up 78 wins this season while stashing away more than $276,000 in purse earnings. He’s just 11 wins away from matching his highest single season win total (89 in 2008) and his UTR is just four points shy of .400 for the season.
