Seven Straight For Ynothos

There’s been no stopping pacing mare Ynothos in recent weeks, and it was more of the same Thursday evening for the distaffer who dispelled the five foes she faced in the Rideau Carleton Raceway opener.

Guy Gagnon quarter pole-moved Ynothos to the top after Perfect Daliance cut the first quarter in :28.3. Ynothos sprinted to the lead and then carved out the middle panels of :58.2 and 1:27.1. She launched home in :28.4 to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Perfect Daliance in 1:56. Howmacfiesty was third.

Sent off as the 2-5 favourite for trainer Victor Puddy, the six-year-old daughter of Camystic-As Hot As Promised improved her 2021 record to 14-5-3 from 22 starts with the win while pushed her lifetime earnings to $143,314. The 31-time winner is owned by Limco Inc of Chateauguay, QC.
