Trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt put on a parade of winners on Friday night (Nov. 29) at Fraser Downs.
Hoerdt drove a half-dozen winners on the card including three of his own trainees, sophomore pacers Go Nine O ($2.30), Thankyaverymuch ($2.90), and Suspicions Runwild ($2.30).
His first victory of the night was courtesy of Pureform Kissntell ($3.60) from the Travis Tracey stable. He also drove Now Playing ($7.10) and Steady Breeze ($6.20) for conditioner Brent Bodor during the 10-race program.
Hoerdt has topped the 200-win mark in a single season for the first time in his driving career and has also put up career-best numbers as a trainer.
He is the leading percentage driver (0.434) and trainer (0.436) nation-wide.
Hoerdt was just a head, neck and nose shy of recording three more wins on the program. Among those close calls, driver John Chappell and Ladies From Hell ($23.30) nosed out Hoerdt's Queen Of Thrones to steal the spotlight in the $10,850 Fillies & Mares Open Pace. The five-year-old Classic Card Shark mare prevailed in 1:54.4 for trainer Paul Davies and co-owner Deborah Pinel.
