Tactical Approach, the 2023 Hambletonian, Kentucky Futurity and Breeders Crown champion, will be standing at stud in 2024.
Diamond Creek announced on Friday, Nov. 3 that Tactical Approach will be joining their Pennsylvania stud barn next year.
Tactical Approach, trained by Nancy Takter, is from the first crop of the red-hot sire, Tactical Landing, and out of the Donato Hanover mare, Sarcy, making him a half-brother to Double Deceiver (1:50.2, $822,579). He raced lightly at two, making five starts with two wins in the Kentucky Sire Stakes Commonwealth Series. He came back very strong at three this season, increasing his bankroll to over $1.35 million, taking a mark of 1:50.1. His most memorable wins were achieved in the Hambletonian, Kentucky Futurity and Breeders Crown, all from undesirable post positions.
Tactical Approach is racing Friday, Nov. 3 in the $205,000 Carl Erskine at Hoosier Park. He will also point to the $350,000 FanDuel Championship at the Meadowlands on Nov. 25.
"We have had our eyes out for another trotting stallion. Tactical Approach fits everything we were looking for," said Diamond Creek's Adam Bowden, "Pedigree, performance, and physical attributes plus intelligence, it's all there."
Tactical Approach will be syndicated and stand in Pennsylvania for a stud fee of $12,000, live foal.
