No Drama Please left no doubt in winning the Open Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday (Nov. 3).
Delaware residents waited patiently for the outcome of the Presidential elections involving their favourite son Joe Biden. Driver Corey Callahan waited patiently for the dust to settle in the Open Trot at Dover Downs.
At the start of the race driver Montrell Teague and Spee Club were on a mission. Faithfulandtrue and driver Mike Cole vacated the pocket and attempted to take the lead away, but were rebuffed by Teague to a :27.1 first quarter. No Drama Please and Corey Callahan then rushed in front of the stands to take control before a :57 half.
The 3-5 race favourite Bluebird Jesse offered a mild challenge to the three-quarter pole. The pair reached the three-quarter pole 1:25.3, a :28.3 quarter.
In the stretch No Drama Please left no doubt who was the best and won by a comfortable one-and-a-quarter lengths for trainer Tom Fanning. They stopped the teletimer in 1:54.4. Bluebird Jesse and Tim Tetrick for trainer Jim King Jr. settled for the place spot. Jamin Jack and trainer-driver Victor Kirby finished third.
No Drama Please is owned by Joseph Smith and returned seven dollars even.
Montrell Teague won five races on the 14 race card. Four divisions of the Matron stakes for two-year-olds return to Dover Downs on Thursday night. Dover Downs races Monday through Thursday.
