It was a profitable Thursday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway for the tandem of driver Guy Gagnon and trainer Jamie Copley, who celebrated five- and three-win performances, respectively.
Gagnon and Copley joined forces to win with Kingston Seelster (1:57.2), Nates Bucky (1:55.3) and Sports Beauty (1:58.2).
Gagnon also tacked on wins with Persuaded (2:00.4) for trainer Dr. Garth Henry and then with Skyfall Sena (1:56) for trainer Alain Martin.
Copley has sent out 87 winners this season – his best number since a 108-win campaign in 2013. Recently surpassing $5 million in career earnings, Copley owns a flashy UTR of .387 in 2017.
Gagnon’s numbers are rock solid, as well, this season. He’s already 10 wins ahead of last year’s total (152) and his purse earnings have nearly matched what he managed to take in last season. He currently sits with 4,859 wins and close to $23 million in purses won.
