Wishiwasagigolo completed a double for his connections on Thursday evening at Saratoga Casino Hotel as the three-year-old pacer dominated his competition en route to a career best win in 1:55.1.
Bruce Aldrich Jr. piloted Wishiwasagigolo, a son of Ameripan Gigolo, to a wire-to-wire score in Thursday’s $6,400 non-winners of two race lifetime pace for colts and geldings for trainer Joe DeCarlo and owner Bill Sartin.
Following a third-place finish in the second leg of the recently contested Gary Kamal Memorial Pacing Series, Wishiwasagigolo was the odds-on favourite on Thursday as he cruised to an easy victory.
Earlier on the card, the Aldrich-DeCarlo-Sartin trio teamed up for a victory with conditional pacer Waterside Light (Lis Mara) who overcame post position eight to record his first win since coming to the Spa in just his third local start. Unlike his favoured stablemate, Waterside Light returned a hearty win price as he paid $15.40 to win.
Live racing continues on Friday at Saratoga with a 6:45 p.m. first post.
