Three-year-old trotting fillies were in the spotlight Monday at Dover Downs in a set of $20,000 DSBF divisions went postward as part of the track’s 14-race card.

K J Diamond used come from behind tactics to take home the first split, and she did so as an overwhelming favourite for trainer/driver Victor Kirby.

She got away third and watched Toni Lee cruised through early fractions of :30, 1:01.1 and 1:31.3. Kirby was first-over going to the three-quarter pole with K J Diamond, who was second and driving as the field headed into the final quarter of the contest. K J Diamond then used a :29-second closing quarter to win by 2-1/2 lengths over Toni Lee in 2:00.3. Azurine was third.

Sent off as the 1-9 favourite, the daughter of Keystone Activator-Diamonds For Julie improved her sophomore record to 5-1-3 from 20 starts while pushing her lifetime earnings to $84,856. She is owned by Pamela Wagner of Fairfax, VA.

Jazzy Judy went down the road in the second division for the tandem of driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Jim King, Jr.

Tetrick hustled his charge to the lead from Post 3 and she proceeded to chop out fractions of :29, :59.4 and 1:30 before using a :29.2 closing panel to seal the deal by a one-length margin over Designers Edge in 1:59.2. Kims Command took home the show dough.

Sent off at odds of 1-2, the daughter of Political Briefing-Giant Smash now owns a 3-0-2 record from 10 trips to the track this season for Thestable Jazzy Judy Grp of Guelph, Ont. The six-time winner pushed her career cash stash to $113,569 with the victory.
