All Turain Triples In Preferred

All Turain, with Corey MacPherson in the bike, won the Sunday afternoon featured event in an impressive 1:56.4 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

All Turain is owned by Lee Hicken of Charlottetown and conditioned by Trevor Hicken.

The victory capped off a four-win performance for MacPherson. The young pilot moves up to fifth-place in the Charlottetown driver standings with 67 first-place finishes on the season.

The win was All Turain's third in a row in the $2,400 Preferred 2 class. Click K (Ron Matheson) was second with Forever Paradise (Marc Campbell) third. The 5-7-2 triactor paid $54.50 while the superfecta 5-7-2-3 returned $599.60 when First Art Down rallied to finish fourth for Kenny Murphy, who recorded a driving double on the day.

The popular trotting mare Holy Molie Maggie ($3) won the $1,950 Open Trot in 2:02 for driver Gary Chappell and owner/trainer Jeff Holmes. The victory was the fourth in her last five starts. Caliban Hanover (Walter Cheverie) finished one length behind in second-place and Swift Kid (Marc Campbell) was third.
