A Sweet Afternoon At CDP

Trainer Alan Sweet teamed up with driver Marc Campbell for a productive afternoon at Charlottetown Driving Park scoring three wins on the 12-race card.

Sweet’s first win came in the card’s opener with D M Starfighter (2:04.3). In Race 4, Boneires Bubba dominated the field with a six and a half length score (2:03.4) before Sweet capped off the afternoon with Jk Crusher (2:03.4) in Race 10.

The resident of O’Leary, P.E.I. is currently having his best season to date. Sweet has recorded 21 wins and over $20,000 in earnings this year. To date, he has record 85 wins with over $85,000 in purse earnings.

Campbell picked up his fourth win on the card in the featured $1,700 Hussy Chaser Retirement Pace aboard Tanks Alot.

The six-year-old Royal Match gelding, who is trained by Wade Sorrie for Austin and Macy Sorrie of Montague, P.E.I, dominated the field with an 11 and a half length score in 1:59.1.

The win was her 17th bringing her lifetime earnings to $46,795.
