Driver James MacDonald swept Monday evening’s second leg of the Pop Up Series for trotters at Woodbine Mohawk Park thanks to sharp efforts from Never Mind N and Cascada.
Never Mind N, who was a 1:55.1 winner in his first leg assignment, powered to the lead in Monday’s follow-up assignment and he never looked back.
Sent off at odds of 1-5, the Carmen Auciello trainee swept to the top from Post 5 and threw down fractions of :27.4, :57.2 and 1:26.2 before kicking home in :28.3 to win by a length over Look At Dat Kat in 1:55. Rallying to a third-place finish was Southwind Caeser.

MacDonald won earlier on the card in the first division with Cascada, who was a gate-to-wire victor in 1:56.4.
The seven-year-old son of Muscle Mass-So Wonderful marched to the top from Post 5 and then sliced out splits of :28.4, :58 and 1:27. He kicked home in :29.4 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over race favourite Aworldly Goodtimes in 1:56.4. Taking home the show dough was Kiss An Angel.
Tommy Riley trains the gelding for Triple S Equine of Newton, Ont. The victory improved his 2022 record to 3-3-3 from 23 trips to the track. The 11-time winner has banked in excess of $110,000 to date.
