There was no catching Windsun Revenge in Monday’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Racetrack, as Paul MacDonell marched him to the front and didn’t look back en route to a 1:53 score.

Windsun Revenge rolled to the top from Post 3 and sliced out splits of :26.4, :56 and 1:25.2 before sprinting home in :27.3 to win by three lengths over race favourite Il Sogno Dream. Third prize went to Rubber Duck.

Trainer Jeff Durham of Omemee, Ont. co-owns the five-year-old son of Kadabra-Oaklea Polly with breeder Robert Van Camp of Port Perry, Ont. It was the fifth win of the season for the 15-time winner who bumped his lifetime earnings to $356,063 in the process.

In other trotting action, claiming gelding Warrawee Proton found his way to victory lane for the sixth start in-a-row thanks to a 1:56.3 triumph in his debut for owner/trainer Steve Coulter.

Scott Coulter rallied the five-year-old son of Muscle Mass-Yankee Sally to win over Blush And Crush and Alacrity.

From 31 starts this season the trotter has racked up 15 wins. The 24-time winner has banked more than $140,000 to date.
