Elimination winner Kg Mist posted a powerful win in the $74,034 Prairie Gold Final for four-year-old pacing mares tonight at Northlands Park.

The As Promised miss, who is owned, trained and driven by Rod Hennessy, got away third as Judgement Day (Mark Bradley) shot to the lead from Post 7. After a :27.3 opening panel, Kg Mist glided to the front and pulled away by four lengths at the half in :56.

The odds-on favourite faced no serious challengers en route to the third quarter station in 1:25.2, leading by six lengths as she turned for home. After making a three-wide move at the third quarter mark, Blue Star Flight (Gerry Hudon) closed in on the pacesetter, but Kg Mist had secured the win reaching the wire in 1:57.1.

Blue Star Flight finished two and a half lengths back in second and Kipinator (Jeff Stone) was third.

Hennessy, who scored a training triple on the nine-race card, co-owns the winner of seven races and over $150,000 in purses with Lorne Duffield of Edmonton, Alta.
