Walter Case, Jr. continued his comeback with a five-bagger on Plainridge Racecourse's meet closing card, including a win in one of two $10,000 Open Whipless Races.

Case engineered a winning trip aboard Armbro Cayenne in the Open Whipless event for pacers over a sloppy track.

The six-year-old gelded son of Blissfull Hall got away fifth from Post 3 as the favoured Johnny Walker (Robert Sumner) blasted to the lead laying down a :27 opening quarter. As the field passed the half in :56.2, Case tipped his charge out from fifth and angled three-wide around Shoot First (James Hardy), who was parked through the opening panels. Armbro Cayenne reached the front before three-quarters in 1:25.3 and pulled away by over three lengths to win in 1:55.4.

Johnny Walker stayed for second and Chevie Dooley (John Nason) came on for third.

Armbro Cayenne’s 23rd career win pushed his earnings over the $300,000 mark for trainer Timothy Case and the Vip Internet Stable LLC of Piscataway, New Jersey, Sidney Korn of Lake Worth, Florida and Albert Dunayer of Springfield, New Jersey.

Case also picked up wins aboard Arts First Lady (1:59.3) in Race 2, Prize Prelude (2:02.2) in Race 5, Gekko (1:58.2) in Race 6 and Cacamamie (2:01.3) in Race 9.

The resident of Bloomingburg, Ohio has visited the winner's circle 10 times since his return on November 21.

In the Open Whipless Trot, T Js Mr Lavec and driver Robert Sumner stopped the clock in 1:57.3.

The four-year-old gelded son of Mr Lavec carved out fractions of :29.2, :59.2 and 1:28 before sprinting home in :29.3 for the three-length win over Bjs Fancy (Walter Case, Jr.) and Slim Down (James Hardy).

The Patricia Sumner trainee scored his 17th win and increased his bankroll to over $290,000 for co-owners James Laverty of Sauble Beach and Trevor Henry of Arthur, Ont.
