Real Simple then held off the pocket-pulling Dreams Matter (Danny Romo), who suffered a flattened tire before the quarter pole caused by fourth-place finisher Orecchietti (Greg Pinkney). Real Simple won by a neck in 1:59 flat. Pictionian Fancypas (Bruce McGean) rallied home from the backfield to show.
Real Simple paid $5 to win as the co-favourite. He notched his ninth win of the season in 22 starts and pushed his 2011 earnings to $47,338 for owner Dwight Lamkey of Black River Bridge, N.B.
The career winner of 11 races and $62,604 has made most of his starts in Ontario, with a couple stops in Quebec and Maine. Earlier this year at the end of April, he won a qualifier at Exhibition Park Raceway in New Brunswick.
