A talent-rich program is on tap this Thursday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, with the Fillies & Mares Preferred in race 12 setting the stage for a potential Badgirl Bridgette threepeat.
First race post time is 6 p.m. (AST) for the 13-dash offering.
Race 12 carries a purse of $4,850 and brings together a stacked group of mares, but all eyes remain on Badgirl Bridgette, the brilliant daughter of Stonebridge Terror-Whatabadgirl who has put together a 13-for-17 summary during her sophomore season in 2025. Assigned post six, she retains regular driver Jason Hughes after wins in her last two starts, including a Fillies & Mares Preferred on Nov. 20, for owner/trainer Bill Lanigan.
Rosetown Mary gets the nod as the slight morning line favourite at 5-2 from post two, as she remains razor sharp for trainer/driver Corey MacPherson after finishing first or second in five of her last six starts.
Sweet Molly will have rail control for driver Gilles Barrieau and she looks poised for a bounce-back effort for trainer Luke Burke.
Windemere Saddy (Marc Campbell) gets post three, while Lady Devine (Ken Murphy) and Brokeandoutofgas (Paul Langille) round out a dangerous seven-horse cast in posts four and five, respectively.
The "Post Time Picks" sides with Badgirl Bridgette for the win: “Badgirl Bridgette was large and in charge last week going wire to wire and closing out in a snappy 28 seconds. She’s been assigned post six this week but been here before so expect Hughes to map out a trip and capture win number 14 on the season.”
A high-end conditioned trot lines up in race nine for a $4,000 purse and features the return of former Charlottetown Open Trot winner New Legacy in post six with Ken Murphy driving for owner/trainer Jennifer Doyle. The seven-year-old Father Patrick-Monarchs Sequel gelding was racing in Ontario, winning two starts back in 2:00.1 in line to Charlottetown native Jason Ryan at The Raceway at Western Fair District. Other top entries in the race include 5-2 morning line favourite Rocket Blast (Corey MacPherson) from post five and veteran trotter Labero (Marc Campbell) in post three.
The Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series continues in race four with a $4,000 division featuring a field of six pacing mares. Last week’s winner, Red Dirt Diamond, is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post three for driver Brett Clow and trainer Deanna Clow. Elm Grove Nanci will leave from post one with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Darrell Neill after a runner-up effort in leg one. The field also includes Twin B Solitaire (Steven Murphy), J J Kinley (Kenny Arsenault), another Clow trainee in Sweet Silvia (Corey MacPherson) and Ubettimagoodone (Jaycob Sweet).
Race eight is a PEISHOA-sponsored event for a purse of $3,700, headlined by post nine starter Woodmere Honeymoon (Marc Campbell) from the Carson Wilkie barn.
