Foreign Officer, driven by Jim Pantaleano, was up on the money Saturday night, winning Yonkers Raceway's $38,000 Open Pace

.

Away fourth from post position No. 4, Foreign Officer watched as pole-sitting, 7-5 choice Lucky Man (Brian Sears) lined up his rivals through a :26.3 quarter-mile and :55.3 half.

Code Word (Yannick Gingras) then moved from third, with Foreign Officer chasing that one toward a 1:24 three-quarters.

Meanwhile, Lucky Man continued to hold sway, taking two lengths into the lane. He found the mile in 1:52, but also found some company. Foreign Officer closed widest and fasest, winning by a neck in 1:59.1 for the mile-and-one-sixteenth. Lucky Man held second over a cone-skimming Rosettes Best (Brent Holland), with Shoobees Place (George Brennan) and Code Word grabbing the small change.

For Foreign Officer, a four-year-old Western Ideal gelding co-owned by David Rovine, Ottawa's Melvin Hartman, J L Benson Stables and Foreign Officer Partners and trained by Tony Alagna, he returned $20.80 (fifth choice) for his 11th win in 31 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $59, with the triple returning $343.50.
