Contestants in the 2017 Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable will have eyes on the lucrative stakes events on Saturday night at The Meadowlands as one of the last chances to earn major money before the end of the season.
Leading into the final stakes is Dave Deighton's True North Stables, banking $7,182,472 with a stable including Downbytheseaside ($1,465,422), Hannelore Hanover ($1,234,511), and Youaremycandygirl ($962,045).
Deighton holds a lead of approximately $250,000 over Jason Hannah and the Jason Hannah Stables, sitting second with $6,859,184 in earnings.
The Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable contest is based on total earnings of selected horses and five percent of the earnings of selected trainers and drivers between May 20 and December 31, 2017. For the purposes of the fantasy bankroll, the winners (horses only) of the 2017 Breeders Crown Finals will each receive a $200,000 contest bankroll bonus.
At the end of the year, the winner of the contest will receive entry into and travel to the 2018 World Harness Handicapping Championship, a prize valued at (approx.) $1,300.
