New Brunswick's marquee harness racing driver finds himself in familiar territory when it comes to racing statistics in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Gilles Barrieau checks in this week as Canada's top percentage driver with a sparkling .421 driving average for the 2013 racing season.
Fresh off a driving challenge win in P.E.I., Barrieau leads his home track of Exhibition Park Raceway with 34 wins on the year. Stephen Trites has jumped into second spot with 19 wins on the campaign at the Saint John track.
Mark Haig, Mike Downey and Todd Trites all check in this week in third place with 17 wins on the season.
Hottest hands at E.P.R. in the last couple of weeks belong to Stephen Trites who has elevated his driving average to a stellar .422 from 78 drives and that includes the 19 wins and counting for the popular catch-driver.
On the training side, "Molten" Mike Downey has been hot all year and has sent 17 horses to victory lane on the year. That is three more than runner-up Sifroi Melanson.
