It Pays To Play To Place At Flamboro

A second-place finish in Thursday’s ninth race at Flamboro Downs by Bel D Erable gave one lucky fan a healthy return on his/her $2 investment

.

The runner-up performance by the trotter resulted in a healthy place payout of $199.20 for a $2 wager. There was only a single ticket purchased on the trotting mare who was sent off as a 67-1 outsider in the $6,000 claiming event. Also noteworthy was the fact that no show money was wagered on Bel D Erable – a rare occurrence at Flamboro Downs.

While the $199.20 place payout was a generous one, it wasn’t the biggest of the season in Canada. That distinction goes to the pacer Just Now, who kicked back $202.40 for a $2 investment in her first race assignment at Flamboro Downs on Friday, July 23.
