Kendall Seelster Tops Boys In Preferred

Four-year-old Shadow Play mare Kendall Seelster swept to the front past the half and held command from late-surging Physicallyinclined to take the $34,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Easy Lover Hanover rolled to the front past a :25.4 opening quarter but yielded command past a :56 half as Kendall Seelster brushed uncovered towards the top. Physicallyinclined also began to move for the front past the half and ranged within two lengths of the lead nearing three-quarters in 1:23.2.

Kendall Seelster opened two lengths on Physicallylinclined in the stretch but worked to hold control through the lane. Physicallyinclined drew closer but hit the finish a half-length shy of victory in a 1:51.4 mile. Easy Lover Hanover gave chase from third.

Owned by 1187422 Ontario Inc., Kendall Seelster won her ninth race from 22 starts this season and her 22nd from 56 overall, earning $931,346. Sylvain Filion drove the $6.70 winner for trainer Rod Boyd.
