NY Gov. Touts $100M Monticello Expansion

It has been reported that New York Governor David Patterson is in support of a plan by Monticello Casino & Raceway's parent company, Empire Resorts, to inject $100 million into the facility to expand its gaming offerings

"We've been working very hard to expand our business," Empire Resorts Executive Vice President Charlie Degliomini was quoted as saying. "If they can provide us the help we need to make this vision a reality, it can be a sooner rather than later process."

The report explains that Monticello recently introduced two electronic roulette table games, and that it is planning for as many as 60 electronic table games in 2011. The games will include blackjack, baccarat and craps.

The article cites Patterson as saying that the Monticello racino has generated more than $190 million for education and $7.4 million for local governments in Sullivan County.
