The final Hambletonian / Breeders Crown Standardbred Poll of the year has been released, and nobody should be surprised who is atop it
.
Loose on the lead by 47 poll points and 29 first-place votes, Muscles Yankee phenom Muscle Hill easily topped the 29th poll of the year.
The three-year-old colt finished with a total of 348 overall points and 32 first-place votes. Muscle Hill capped off his undefeated 12-race career October 24 in the Breeders Crown at Woodbine Racetrack for trainer Greg Peck and driver Brian Sears.
Having compiled a sensational season of his own, four-year-old SJs Photo gelding Lucky Jim finished second in the poll with three first-place votes and 301 overall poll points. Driven by Andy Miller and conditioned by Julie Miller, Lucky Jim earned over $1.07 million this year, bagged multiple stakes, and only tasted defeat after making an uncharacteristic break in the Maple Leaf Trot.
The top five was rounded out by Pepsi North America Cup winner Well Said, Metro Pace victor Sportswriter, and the dominating aged trotting mare Buck I St Pat, respectively.
