Safe Conduct held off a closing Logan Park to win the $40,000 Open Trot for the first time this year at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Safe Conduct blitzed off the wings for driver Chris Christoforou, crossing over to the top spot approaching the first turn, and he raced in front unopposed through :27.1, :57.1, and 1:25.3 splits. What About Elmo (Jody Jamieson) took off from the pocket coming off the last turn, and Logan Park shifted to their outside in mid-stretch to begin his rally. With the two attackers encroaching, Safe Conduct dug in and resisted a final lunge from Logan Park by a half-length to complete a 1:53 victory.  What About Elmo was three-quarters of a length back in third.

Safe Conduct tallied his first open-level win of the season for trainer Camilla Christoforou, improving his 2025 record to two-for-11. The six-year-old son of Archangel-Safekeeping, owned by Irvann Holdings Inc. of Toronto, Ont. and Charalambos Christoforou of Campbellville, Ont., has accrued 11 wins and $515,460 in earnings in 54 lifetime starts. He returned $10.80 at the windows.
