The Fraser Downs Horse Racing Club is ready to rock again! After the Race Club's first horse, No Pelo Blue Chip, was forced to be shut down for a short time due to an injury, another horse, Fox Valleyrichrokr, has paced into the Club.
Fox Valleyrichrokr, a four-year-old Illinois-bred bay gelding and a recent addition to the Fraser Downs at Elements Casino races, will be in action on Friday, Nov. 25.
The big, good-looking pacer by Richess Hanover out of Fox Valley Rock On, will race out of the stable of trainer Rod Therres. 'Rocker' has made 28 starts in 2016 with four wins, three seconds and seven thirds, and appears to like it at the Downs with a 4-2-0-1 local record. He has a lifetime mark of 1:55.3 for the mile (set earlier this year at Running Aces Harness Park in Minnesota), career earnings of $25,750 and will likely race in the non-winners of six claiming $6,000 ranks.
Therres, who got his start in the late 1980s when the Downs was known as Cloverdale Raceway, has had a good start to the 2016-17 meet. He has made 3,490 lifetime starts with a 693-461-410 win-place-show record and $3,639,57 in earnings.
Therres, a Cloverdale-bred, has also raced in Alberta and Ontario and has had such top-flight horses as Dal Reo Damsel, Royal Morn, Primary Purpose, Village Janus and presently conditions Open pacer Buddy Weiser, who won his elimination for this weekend's $50,000 Jim Vinnell Memorial Pace.
