Thinking about using your New Jersey Racing Commission license to access the Meadowlands Sports Complex during Super Bowl week? Forget it.
The entire complex will be on ‘lockdown’ for a full week prior to the February 2, 2014 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.
New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority Vice President Jim Minish told the Authority Board on Thursday that the entire site will go on lockdown, starting Monday, January 27, 2014; it was reported by John Brennan in The Bergen Record.
“Everyone coming onto the site will have to have a credential with ID, and all deliveries will be sent to a certain location for screening,” Minish said.
According to Brennan’s article, Minish said that each of the buildings — the stadium, the Izod Center, the old and new Meadowlands Racetrack grandstands and the unfinished American Dream Meadowlands — will be shut down the night of Friday, January 31; only those with even higher-security credentials will be permitted to enter.
