Father Nuno First In Philly Feature

John Cancelliere's Father Nuno ($7.20) withstood a class hike and a lengthy first-over grind on his way to a 1:51.3 score in Sunday's (Nov. 21) $16,200 top-level pacing feature at Harrah's Philadelphia.

Father Nuno commenced his first-over bid from fourth just before 1-5 pacesetter Sugartown completed a :56.3 first half. As soon as David Miller set the four-year-old Somebeachsomewhere entire into motion, the pace picked up, as Father Nuno made up four lengths to force a :27.3 third quarter before edging away through a :27.2 final split to win by a widening 1-1/2 lengths. Sugartown held second; Gumption emerged from traffic to finish third.

Tom Cancelliere trains Father Nuno, who, after missing his sophomore season, has won six of 25 races this year.

Racing returns to Harrah's Philadelphia on Wednesday (Nov. 24) with an 11-race card; post time is 12:25 p.m. Free past performance pages continue to be available via the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen's Association website.
