Dover Downs treated its fans to a 14-race program on Thursday, and driver Dexter Dunn did a touchdown celebration after manufacturing a seven-win performance.
Dunn got his win parade rolling in Race 2 with Grantmeawish (1:49.3), and he tacked on wins with California Cruisin (Race 3 – 1:50.4), ASAP Hanover (Race 4 – 1:49.3), Chillaxin Away (Race 5 – 1:50.4), Hurricane Beach (Race 6 – 1:52), Bettors Memories (Race 10 – 1:49.3) and Voyager (Race 11 – 1:51.1).
The monster night for Dunn brings this year’s win total to 400 while his earnings creep closer to $12 million. He’s been a force to be reckoned with all over North America this season stamping himself as one of the most sought after sulky sitters when the big money is on the line.
Honourable mention on the Thursday program goes out to the tandem of driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Jim King, Jr. as they won five and four races, respectively.
They kicked off the program winning Race 1 with Tyga Hanover in 1:50.4 and later piled up winner’s circle photo shoots with Bad Boy A (Race 8 – 1:50.3), Mister Ohanzee A (Race 9 – 1:51.4) and Qs Cruise (Race 12 – 1:50.2). Tetrick added another catch-driving victory in 1:53.1 with the Josh Green-trained Blue On Black in Race 14.
