Dover Hat Trick For Nova Artist

Nova Artist made it three-consecutive Thursday feature wins with a come-from-behind 1:49.2 victory in the 30,000 Preferred/Open Handicap Pace Thursday at Dover Downs.

After a torrid :25.3 opening panel, Matt Kakaley driving Valentino finally took the lead from Sunshine Superman and Jason Lynch. On the backstretch, Ron Pierce hustled Adventure Bound up on the outside as challengers bunched heading to the final In now typical style, Nova Artist came off-cover to zoom to the front for his second straight faster than 1:50 triumph. Adventure Bound was a strong second in front of Simons Artist with Vic Kirby the show horse.

Allan Davis drove the six-year-old Real Artist-Avon Lady horse owned by his parents, trainer Eddie and Kathy Davis. The win was his ninth of the year in 27 trips and $169,850 earnings. Nova Artist’s career bankroll is $768,467 with 31 winning efforts.
