John MacDonald earned his first victory on Friday at Rideau Carleton Raceway in Race 5 before driving five consecutive winners in Races 7 through 11
.
The hot-handed reinsman captured the fifth race with Sweet Calypso (2:00) for trainer Matthew MacDonald to kick off a dominating night at the office.
MacDonald later began his win streak in the seventh race with Sebastien Giroux-trained Quintal Bayama (1:59). His following winner’s were Michaels Pleasure (1:59) for Gary McDonald, Chip Dot Com (2:01.2) for Matthew McDonald, Gemstone (1:58.4) for Rona McDonald and Mya Papaya (2:00.4) for Guy Chretien.
The resident of Russell, Ontario is in the midst of a career season having won 369 times and earned over $1.7 million in purses so far. His 2009 win total and UDRS of 0.372 places him third in the national standings. After guiding six winners on the 15-race card this evening, MacDonald now sports 1,627 wins on his lifetime record with over $8 million in purse earnings.
