The two divisions of the co-featured races for New York-sired trotters at Saratoga Casino Hotel saw very different results on Wednesday (Nov. 20), as a favourite and a longshot prevailed in their respective contests.

For the second consecutive week, John Stark Jr’s Its My Party, by Chapter Seven, dominated the competition and rolled to a convincing win in her $10,700 tilt. Its My Party went wire-to-wire for the second consecutive Wednesday afternoon and did it this week in 1:57.3 over a track labelled ‘good.’ The win was the sixth of the season for the three-year-old filly and the third in her last four starts. Its My Party, who was sent off at even money, never suffered an anxious moment and posted a one and a half-length victory.

The other division featured a purse of $10,000 and was won in upset fashion. A disqualification resulted in Frank Hanover, by Credit Winner, secured his fifth victory of the season. Vernon Downs invader Give Angel Credit had hit the wire first, but had interfered with a rival in the stretch before being disqualified and subsequently placed third. Bob Gale’s Frank Hanover had Frank Coppola Jr. piloting for the first time, and the duo, who raced at odds of 28-1, was ultimately placed first. The mile was clocked in 2:01.2 and Frank Hanover paid $58.50 to win.

Live racing at Saratoga will continue on Thursday afternoon. First post will be at 12 noon.
