Atta Boy Dan continued his outstanding 2015 season Friday at The Meadows, capturing the $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace for his 17th victory in 31 starts this year.
Atta Boy Dan was pushed by the parked-out Cammikey to a demanding :26.2 opening panel. But when Dave Palone gave the six-year-old Western Terror-Dropitlikeitshot gelding a :29 second-quarter breather, he had plenty left to discourage challengers. Atta Boy Dan scored in 1:50.2, two and a quarter lengths better than the first-over Unlocked, with Dew N Doughnuts a rallying third.
Ron Burke trains Atta Boy Dan, who now boasts $446,942 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Jim Pantaleano collected four wins and Eric Goodell three on the 15-race card.
