It was déjà vu in Tuesday’s second leg of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) for filly trotters as JA Going Alltheway and Luscious Leigh duplicated last week’s opening leg wins at Dover Downs for driver Vic Kirby and trainer John Wagner.
Kirby bided his time waiting until mid-backstretch before sending JA Going Alltheway into action and the daughter of CR Commando-Anastasia JA rushed into the lead and rolled on for a lifetime record 2:00 victory over Bosston Chevel and Podium. The five-time winner has banked more than $90,000 for owner Pamela Wagner.
In the second $20,000 DSBF frosh trot, Luscious Leigh and Kirby had a more difficult time holding off Starlit Eyes and Ross Wolfenden but the John Wagner-owned CR Commando-Fox Valley Mo chestnut showed her superiority in the stretch for her third victory in seven races. Ellas Command finished third.
The top eight point getters after the prelims will race for a $100,000 purse next Tuesday, November 27.
Ben Stafford Jr. guided By Design, who is owned by Randall Stafford and by Ben Stafford, to victory in a $10,500 race for DSBF eligible filly pacers in 1:57.2. Seboomook Pandora was a head back in second with Ms. Jen the show horse.
