Coming Fashion strutted away from his rivals down the lane to steal the spotlight on closing day of Leamington Raceway's 2025 harness racing meet on Sunday, Nov. 2, winning the featured $8,000 Lakeshore Cup for Preferred trotters.
Driven by Garrett Rooney, Coming Fashion forged past early breaker Duke Deo (Michael Hamlin) for the leading role and carved out fractions of :27.4, :58.2 and 1:29 before opening up more than five lengths in the stretch for the 1:59 victory. Workinitonbroadway (Don Rankin Jr.) followed in the pocket to place. Favourite Marvin Hagler (Lorne House) staged a three-wide rally from fourth but could not improve his position as Made Of Magic (Alex Lilley) came through at the pylons and took third.
Coming Fashion, who won his only other Leamington Raceway start in a Preferred 4 at the end of August, was the 5-2 second choice and paid $7.20 to win. The six-year-old Crescent Fashion-Here Comes Herbie gelding notched his seventh win overall this year from 17 starts and now has 22 career victories with just shy of $135,000 in earnings.

The feature win completed a driving grand slam on the 11-race, meet-closing card for Rooney and extended his lead atop the driver standings. The defending driving champion ended the 2025 season with 40 wins at the Leamington, Ont. half-mile oval. Natasha Day secured the runner-up honours with her 12th winner of the meet in Sunday's seventh race, driving veteran pacer Toureg Seelster for trainer Dain Pearson. Robert Doyle and Scott Wray tied for third with 11 wins each.
Cameron McQueen led all trainers again at Leamington with his 18-win meet capped off by claiming pacer Mickeymaksomespeed's repeat romp in the fifth race in rein to Rooney. With a closing day victory courtesy of the Rooney-driven pacing distaffer Furiosa, William Leon finished second in the standings with a total of eight wins while Michael Hamlin tied Greg Price for third, with each trainer sending out seven successful starters during the meet.
