There are just two months remaining in the 2023 season and with the Breeders Crown concluded the majority of the top stakes races are in the rearview mirror. That said, there are still some major stakes in the month of November that could factor into the 2023 TROT Magazine Fantasy Stable Contest standings.
The TROT Fantasy Stable Contest is based on total earnings of selected horses and five per cent of the earnings of selected trainers and drivers between May 26 and Dec. 31, 2023. For the purposes of the fantasy bankroll, the winners (horses only) of the 2023 Breeders Crown finals each received a $200,000 contest bankroll bonus.
Of the horses in the contest, those bonuses went to Bond, Bythemissal, Confederate, Jiggy Jog S and Sylvia Hanover.
Shane Courbier's Courbier Racing went into the Breeders Crown elims with a $6.43 million bankroll, and he still fronts his 1,024 rivals after Breeders Crown weekend with a current grand total of nearly $7.9 million. Bev Rock's ABR stable was some $47,000 back of Courbier going into the Breeders Crown, and stays close behind but trails the front-runner by a $63,000 margin at $7.83 million.
Mike Parrish's Alysar Racing ($7.63 million) leap-frogged Randy Proud's Proud Stable ($7.56 million) to take over third while Joseph Koury's Prestige Equine vaulted from ninth before the Breeders Crown to fifth with a massive weekend and a stable total of $7.35 million.
At the end of the year, the first three finishers (based on total stable earnings) will be awarded betting vouchers in the amount of $500 (first place), $300 (second place) and $100 (third place).
